Welcome
Welcome to the first
glimpse of our school. We hope that by visiting our website you will want to
come and find out more about us and visit our school and meet our chil dren and
staff.
I was appointed as
Headteacher of the school in September 2006 at a very exciting time in the life
of Howe Park School, just as our new purpose built nursery was ready to open.
The term before was a time when I was privileged to work with my new leadership
team and put in place all the preparations that have led to the successful
establishment of this new provision for the school.
We are very proud of
our school and the high regard that it is held in by our families (I hope you
will find a few minutes to look at the results of our recent questionnaire). As
an Infant and Nursery School, we are able to get to know your child really well
so that all children feel that they are really valued and cared for in a
community that is small enough to enable excellent relationships to be formed,
but large enough to ensure that a full and varied curriculum is delivered.
We are very
fortunate in the support we have from our community. We have a very supportive
Governing Body, who take an active role in the life of the school- sometimes
behind the scenes in meetings, but also by being part of school events such as
our Easter Bonnet Parade or Maths Day. Additionally our FRIENDS Association
plays a very active role in the school putting on events that help families feel
they are part of an exciting community and also by raising much valued funds for
our school.
In October we
achieved our Healthy Schools Status, a success which was quickly followed by the
acceptance of our School Travel Plan, and the additional funds that this
provides for the school. We are now working hard at achieving our Inclusion
Mark- something that this school feels is very important as we value all
children, families and members of our school community.
I look forward to
welcoming you and your family to our school.
